Para Abnormal

I’m not usually in the habit of linking to individual sites unless its for a game.  However, the wife was searching the Internet for a “spooky desktop” and stumbled upon Para Abnormal by Dave Lowe, a web comic that deals with the paranormal in a Far Side like fashion.  Here is an example:

Like any comic there are highs and lows, and not every joke will tickle every funny bone, but I got enough laughs out of it that I thought I would share.

Enjoy!

Zombies Ate My Neighbors

With Monkey Island getting a remake/update/new episodes, I can only hope that Zombies Ate My Neighbors, another classic LucasArts game, gets the same treatment.  Sadly, I don’t think it will.  However, thanks to Tom Chick, I now know I can get the old game on my Wii.

It is something I suppose… but a man can dream…

A Silhouette, an Eye and a Monster Face

This morning I spent some time doodling a few things that just didn’t work out.  I wandered away for a while and decided to be less focused and just play around.  You can’t really tell, but I was messing with the blur and smudge tools to get a better feel of how they work.

This is how I spend my Saturday mornings…

Moon over a Castle

This morning’s doodle was my attempt at drawing in the negative.  I wanted to do an image set at night, but I didn’t want to draw in white on a black background, so I doodled with black on white and when I got the image to where I wanted it, I inverted the colors.  It came out well enough that I didn’t bother doing any touch ups after the invert.

Of course, my edge bleed to white works less well with this theme’s image border, but if not for that, I like the effect of the uneven edge like perhaps looking through a window in winter.

You’ve got red on you.

News comes trickling out of Valve about Left4Dead 2.  First up is the addition of a cricket bat for full on Shaun of the Dead style zed killin’.

Also, it seems that Valve is looking in to linking the two games, Left 4 Dead and its sequel, through multi-player maps/campaigns.  I sure hope all this works in the 360 versions, because I’d love to essentially have the choice of eight characters when messing around with my friends instead of just four.
