emptying my brain onto the internet since 1998…

One of the central preoccupations of my life is ensuring that I am prepared should the dead rise from the grave.
Okay, not really, but it is fun to pretend sometimes…
In any event, when I saw the products from Gibbs Technologies, I couldn’t help but think that they might come in handy should the improbable happen. Especially the Humdinga. Going from 4 Wheel Drive to gliding across the water is sure to safer than driving around looking for a bridge to cross the river the undead have chased you toward.
Now if they could just make it a hybrid capable of running on full electric, full gas, or any combination thereof, I’d be set.
I command you, if you have any interest in seeing Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, then do so in the theater. A good theater. Drive many miles if you must.
I will admit, when I first heard of this film I though to myself, "A movie about sailing and boats." But as I learned more of the story, an English ship sent out to sink, burn or capture a particular French ship finds that the French of in fact hunting them, it got more interesting. Still, even after seeing some previews and scenes and interviews with cast, the movie didn’t really call to me.
However, the movie is fantastic. And as the title of this little review suggests, the cannon battles between the two ships litterally rocked the theater. This is definately one of those films that just won’t be the same at home…
… at least until I can afford that home THX theater.
Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!
Joy to the world, peace on Earth, and all that crap…
Drive Safely.. see ya next year.
… while working your job…
The second most frustrating thing to run into is someone else doing a job that you think you can do better.
Seeing someone fumble and stumble when you believe you could do it faster, easier, and more effieciently is one of those heartbreaking, knuckle-whitening things that can drive you up the wall and over the edge.
The MOST frustrating thing to run into is someone else doing a job that you KNOW you can do better.
Seeing someone fumble and stumble when you are secure in the knowledge that you can do it faster, easier, and more efficiently, and more to the point HAVE done it in the past faster, easier and more efficiently, is one of those things that drive people to killing sprees.
I want to do my job well, but sitting here day after day, unable to do my job because someone less qualified than me can’t seem to get it together takes me from 0 to 60 on the frustration-o-meter in under 3 seconds of walking in the door.
