emptying my brain onto the internet since 1998…
Over two years ago I posted the trailer for a movie called The Dead.
Well, this month, us zombie movie fans in the United States will finally get a chance to see it. The slow roll out is here. Being in Atlanta, I’ll get to see it on the 28th, and see it on the 28th I will.
… until Dragon*Con.
I’m excited. Â Are you excited? Â I mean, how often do you get to go to a place and congregate with more than 35,000 people of similar interests to your own? Â I do it once a year. Â And how often do you get to be a part of making an event like that happen? Â I’m hoping this year is the first of many.
This will be my first year working as staff and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Â Sure, I could just go to con like I usually do and see some panels and go to some parties, but this year I’m helping make the magic happen… as long as by “magic” I mean “standing at the door counting people and occasionally telling them the room is full” which is likely to be the extent of my action. Â It’s not like I’m running the panels (although, you never know) … I’m more of a Kleezantsun. Â Yeah, I just went there. Â But it is an apt description. Â Dragon*Con is a convention for fans by fans. Â It isn’t run by companies or marketing firms, it’s run by us.
Anyway, PBS is going to be airing Four Days at Dragon*Con on Saturday the 28th at 9PM.
Today is November… and that means it is National Novel Writing Month, NaNoWriMo, a mad dash to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Â Two years ago was the first time I’d heard of the WriMo. Â I planned to participate, and I even wrote a couple of days, but it was fairly pathetic. Â Last year I was hyped… then I got sick and was down for the count for nearly two weeks (missed a fair bit of work too).
This year, I am ready. Â I got my idea all in line over the past month and did a little outlining and plotting, just to make sure the idea wasn’t going to stall on me. Â Today I wrote… 1,430 words. Â Best NaNoWriMo start I have ever had.
I’m looking forward to see how the rest of the month turns out…

For some reason, I just love this video and music. I play it every day to start my day.
I’ve seen it a million times and the internet classic of Charlie goes to Candy Mountain is still just as messed up as it was the first time I saw it.
I used to run Stuff on the Net every month or two, but people stopped sending me cool links, and I don’t want to just repeat the things I see on other blogs I read. So, send me cool links…
And now it is 2002…
In a couple of weeks I’ll be moving to a new apartment, and the new job is going… as well as expected (sucks). In any event, the page may not get updated as often in the next month as I settle things down a bit.
